One of the rules of web design is - Make every
page of your website reachable from anywhere else on your
site with only one or two mouse clicks. It's a good rule
and to follow it your pre-planning and organizational
skills come into play.
Designing a website starts on paper. The bigger
the website the more this becomes necessary. If you layout
your website in advance, your website navigation will
be consistent throughout.
Everything you can do to assure the minimum amount
of mouse clicking is best for you, your website and your
visitors. Drawing and mapping out each page with it's
content, links and navigation requires a few minutes of
thought but it's worth it.
The worst thing you could do on your website
is to have a page that has no links or way to get back
to your main index or Homepage. When this happens, the
next click your visitor clicks will be off your website.
The next part of 'What People Don't Like' deals
with website designs and ideas that irratate people.
